Swivel seat, turning seat or wheelchair lift: how do I choose?
Use a swivel or turning seat when the passenger transfers to a wheelchair outside the car and needs help rotating and lowering out of the vehicle, typical for SUVs, MPVs and sedans. Use a wheelchair lift when the user remains seated in the wheelchair and must board a van, minibus or bus with a raised floor.
Which wheelchair lift capacity do I need?
The 250 kg Mini UVL Platform Lift covers a single wheelchair user in compact vans. For a wheelchair user plus an attendant, choose a 300 kg model such as the under-vehicle lift. For daily taxi or shuttle duty, choose the 350 kg hydraulic platform lift or the WL-880 scissor lift.
Manual ramp, electric ramp or lift?
Manual 2-fold and 3-fold ramps suit low-frequency use and low-floor vehicles. Choose the electric folding aluminum ramp when you want dashboard-controlled rear access on a van. Choose a platform lift when the floor is very high or the required ramp slope would be too steep for the wheelchair user to manage.
What ramp length do I need for my vehicle?
Ramp reach must bridge the step height at a comfortable slope, roughly 1:12 as a rule of thumb. The 3-fold ramp reaches 2100 mm for full-size vans and shuttle buses, while the 2-fold ramp reaches 1800 mm for low-floor vans and accessible taxis.
